For a record that was recorded “in the heat of the moment,” it sure sounds pretty fuckin' awesome. Offsides stepped up in the face of musical duress, when most bands would have fallen apart, and instead produced a staunch eleven minutes of skull-bashing hardcore.
Lyrically, It's A Struggle... takes on people's perception of life. And musically, it ignites a flame of the original on the gas -drenched pile of the traditional. Offsides is not trying to be the next big thing, but they're bringing new life to the undying pastime.  With no sexist connotations, I must say that vocalist Danielle Allen brings new meaning to the term “deep throat.” And in true DIY fashion, Charles Chaussinand (of Get Outta Town Records) is both the man responsible for the guitar riffs, and the man responsible for putting this record out. This EP doesn't even get old after six consecutive spins on an hour-long subway ride, but I sure hope there's a full-length in the works. - Kyle Timlin
