| Son Ambulance - Someone Else's Deja Vu |
With two albums under his belt, Son Ambulance was considered to be a Joe Knapp solo act, but after teaming up with Jeff Kost on Someone Else’s Déjà vu he probably shouldn’t go it alone anymore. “A Girl From New York City” uses a conga beat while “Quand Tu Marches Seul” has  Spanish guitar, piano and a whole lot of “la’s”. You can hear a little bit of “America” near the end of the sweet and folky “Horizons” making the Simon and Garfunkle comparisons easy, but accurate. Knapp’s vocals no longer sound whiney, but sweet and gentle on the acoustic “Constellations” and the cheesy 80s ballad “Legends of Lizareth”. With its magical little piano and ethereal harmonizing “Someone Else’s Déjà vu” becomes the standout. The song may get a little repetitive, but with the group sing along and quiet clap sequence at the end it’s worth it. - Shannon Carlin
