The Steal - “The Steal”

Finally, a British band that doesn't sound like Joy Division! The Steal keep it real with a sound rooted in youth crew tradition—fast and to the point! This is one album you can't judge by it's cover. What look like four buttoned-up squares on the cover are really four straight-up punks on a mission to cause a reaction.

The Steal's music urges the new school to get past all the bullshit and start doing hardcore some justice. To these guys, hardcore is an endangered species—an ethnic neighborhood with the hipsters moving in. And they will not stand by and watch! The Steal launch an all-out lyrical assault on tools, drones, scenesters, bloggers, star fuckers, and every other waste of life out there. And they do it in just twenty minutes.

I honestly can't sum up The Steal better than they already have. In their words, they are a band—not a fashion statement, a fad or a demographic—they are a band. They want you to think. Hell, their logo is just a little light bulb. Lower your fist! Raise your voice! Pick this up!
