Your favorite corporate owner of music and movie copyrights is back again to offer you my unique perspective on how the entertainment industry affects society and our government. In our beautiful capitalist nation, there is a lot that has happened and a lot that still needs to happen if we are to continue to be the #1 republic on earth. If you have been with me in my world, you know that there are two presidents and these two offices are filled by George W. Bush and Shawn Carter (aka Jay-Z) respectively. On behalf of hip-hop, I would like thank you two gentlemen for keeping us focused, safe, and (business wise) victorious.
Since life only comes around once, you must pause to enjoy certain moments and reflect on what it means. It is okay to be victorious. It is what hip-hop and our country do on the regular. Business is great in hip-hop (Lil’ Wayne sales anyone?) and we are making a fantastic transition to the new digital business model that will be with us for the next 20 years. Also doing a good job of dealing with change is our military, who are handling the transition of how to fight our enemies in this new non-state world. The only problem I have with our progress on both fronts is the cowardly attacks on our Presidents for moving us into the future.
This is a great moment for change in our country's time and a great time for hip-hop business. On the sales front, Erykah Badu is helping the digitally challenged by making a physical bridge and selling units made for laptop users. Pick up her album up in digital form at any digital retailer. She is doing her thing. On the video game front, great American brand master 50 Cent's new video game "Blood in the Sand" will arrive in video game stores soon. Although Jay -Z is currently $100 million dollars short of his true market value, he should still be congratulated on his union with Beyonce. Together, they are hip-hop's first billion dollar family. Maybe when Beyonce gets her eventual $300 to $500 million for the same type of deal, you will let her become CEO of your company, while sticking to the sports husband stuff. Maybe it’s me, but I believe B. Carter to be a more vicious business person than you (No new pop or R&B women have eaten a good meal in eight years. Just her crumbs.) Mrs. B.Carter is still the best financially, consistent global content provider for urban/ pop period. Please don’t be offended President S. Carter. Just enjoy the victory. Right now, the best person to run Def Jam Records and all it components is Jermaine Dupri. He has global and regional understanding of hip-hop commerce. The only reason hip-hop would not have him be CEO over all Def Jam operations is because he would have to answer to Doug Morris and LA Reid. This appointment will globally raise his profile and make justification of ex-banker Janet Jackson's choice in businessmen. Okay Jermaine, I am hating instead of scolding, but since it's Janet Jackson, I give myself a pass. Governor Patterson I must congratulate you on your executive decision to pardon hip-hop businessman and landlord Slick Rick for defending himself against people who robbed him at gun point and planned to do it several more times. Now that hip-hop knows you can see injustice, you need to give a pass to those who do something in order to protect the people. If not, please step down from office as we have enough cowards to deal with. I would also like to thank Mrs Clinton for clearing hip-hop's collective mind. Hip-hop participants are no longer considered crazy in our assessments of you and your husband as government officials. Senator, as the former first lady of this outstanding country, shame should consume your thoughts. Senator, you could have appeared in Minnesota via TV screen and said to the American people "I lost. Obama won. I respect our voting process and I support Obama." Mrs. Clinton did not even have the decency of a first lady to concede the political race in a timely manner. You have exposed yourself as a lying, racist, anti-American communist (only a communist would try to undermine our present president while making over $100 million during his administration) with no respect for Black Americans. You and your husband Billy (who has now destroyed his presidential legacy) need to STOP! I told you I would no longer advise you, so I am not going to scold you any more because any United States citizen backing you in or out of office will now be identified as racist and the true niggers holding this country back from greatness. Too bad poor and hardworking whites enjoy hip-hop. Those same whites voted for President Bush (the same guy who put Colin Powell in as Secretary of State followed by Dr. Rice). These Americans know you are full of shit and will refuse to hold on to racist views in lieu of housing, jobs, and security against terror. If John McCain is not a coward and does the smart, courageous thing, he will put Dr. Rice on the ticket as Vice-President and all your racial honesty will have been in vein. Dr. Rice will wipe the floor with your racist rhetoric and spineless political positions. Dr. Rice's boss listened to hip-hop even when hip-hop's most important businessman (earner for Jay-Z) Kanye West took him to task on national television. Remember, this is not a scolding, Senator. Hip-hop thanks you. Your political demise on the world stage provides mental serenity and as a bonus, political enjoyment. As for the rest of hip-hop, you need to get away from anyone in business or politics that will vote or support polices against their own monetary interest just to feel mentally superior. If this behavior is not checked, it may cost us our great republic. It is time to go digital, get more of the profits available through TV advertising, pay your taxes, pause and enjoy the victory. So until next time, this is Ike Jackson online, hoping Sister Soulja is enjoying the current political moment just as much as hip-hop is.
