Mac Lethal Delivers a Dose of Red State Hip-hop

Indie rap has arrived at a place where a melanin-deficient mc no longer feels the need to hide his affliction, nor is it any longer even really a novelty worth mentioning. Mr. Lethal's musical neighborhood simply offers a poetic walk through things a suburban-bred but urban-dwelling white dude in his 20s would find of interest: anonymous make-out sessions, hometown pride, getting drunk, left-wing political rants, rants against left-wing political ranters, shout outs to Wu-Tang, and even how all of Tool's albums sort of sound the same lately. Alongside his digressions on hip anti-hipsterness, fondness for beer, and atheist fundamentalism, he often raps of his love affair with non-attachment. To be sure, the album has some corny bricks, but is balanced out by its humor, style, and wordplay.
